Obituary

Alma L. Shultz, age 87, of Richmond, died Monday afternoon (January 11, 2010) at Rose Gate Village. She was born in Milton, Pennsylvania on June 26, 1922 to Follmer and Ruth Sitler Westley and had lived here since 1974. She was a graduate of Watsontown (PA) High School and had worked for Radiation Corporation in Pennsylvania. She was a seamstress and a retired 20 year employee of Armstrong Cleaners and Formal Wear. Alma was a former member of Cambridge City Presbyterian Church and was a participant at Saint John Lutheran Church (Richmond). She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary (Richmond) and of the American Legion Auxiliary (Dublin). She was a loving and caring mother and friend and was referred to as "the sweetest person" by many of her friends and acquaintances. Her husband, Alton C. "Bud" Shultz, died on October 27, 2004. Survivors include her daughters - Sue (Terry) Mathews of Richmond, Pamela (Bob) Ritz of Centerville, Karen (Robin) Head of Mesquite, Nevada, Joyce (George) Cowman of Poway, California; brother - Donald Westley of Pennsylvania; sisters - Sharon Bennage and Carman Steinbacher both of Pennsylvania; grandchildren - Chris, Lora, Terry, Charlene and Hayley; 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, a brother, Follmer "Skip" Westley, Jr., and her step-mother, Edith Westley, are also deceased. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday (January 16, 2010) in Saint John Lutheran Church (501 South 7th Street, Richmond). Pastor Laura Altman will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (January 15, 2010) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
