August "Paul" Paradiso, age 76, of Richmond, Indiana, peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on May 2, 2018 at Reid Health Care after an extended illness. Paul was born in Richmond on December 21, 1941 to Orlando and Irene Miller Paradiso and had lived in this area most of his life. He married Mary "Paulette" Baker on December 21, 1964.
He was a 1961 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and received an Associates of Applied Science Degree from Purdue University on May 13, 1983. Paul retired from Richmond State Hospital after 42 years. Paul was an Eagle Scout and Scout leader, and very proud to have two grandsons that also became Eagle Scouts. He enjoyed participating in the YMCA Indiana Princess program with his two daughters. Paul was a member of First United Methodist Church in Richmond.
Paul wants the world to know how much he loved his family. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 53 years, Paulette Paradiso; daughters Sondra (Douglas) Davis of Lafayette, Indiana and Susan (Carey) Dalbey of Richmond; grandchildren Adam (Chrissy) Whallon, Natalie Paradiso, Mary Davis, Daniel Davis, Matthew Davis and Grace Davis; great-granddaughter Hadley Whallon and another great-grandchild due in November; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roland Dudley Paradiso, infant sister Sondra Joyce Paradiso, father-in-law Paul Baker, nephew Michael Paradiso, niece Monica Alvey and great-niece Heather Alvey.
Services for Paul will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday May 5, 2018 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery. Pastor Ted Chalk will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday May 5, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to The Boy Scouts of America, YMCA, Wayne County Historical Museum or First United Methodist church.
