Barbara Jean Honan, age 88, passed away Sunday December 28, 2025, at Brooke Knoll Village in Avon, Indiana. She was born in Pontiac, Il on September 30, 1937, to Edward David Pillsbury and Iva Matilda Shepherd Pillsbury. Barbara graduated from Pontiac High School in 1955 and worked at Murphy's department store in Pontiac before getting married to Richard Harold Honan and living in Virginia and Florida before moving to Indiana. She was a long time employee at Heritage Books and Gifts in Richmond. She co-owned and operated Honan Camera for several years with her late husband Richard. Barbara enjoyed reading, crafting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Katherine (Michael) Anderson and Lori (Frank) Konermann; grandchildren Jessica (Brett) Craig of Lebanon, IN, Hailey and McKenzie Konermann of Brownsburg, IN, Wilber and Henning Anderson of Cambridge, MA and multiple nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Iva Pillsbury, sister Betty Diane Lugar and husband Richard "Rick" Honan.
Services for Barbara will be held at 1pm on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary with visitation prior to the service from 12pm-1pm. Burial with graveside services will follow in Earlham Veteran Field of Honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's name to the American Cancer Society.
