Obituary

Bernadine M. Brann, age 92 of Richmond passed away peacefully Tuesday (September 13, 2016). She was born on June 3, 1924 in Oldenburg, Indiana to Joseph H. and Anna E. (Tebbe) Dickman. Bernadine moved to the Richmond area when she was a small child and grew up on the family farm in Webster. She attended Webster High School and married James E. Brann on November 30, 1946. She was a homemaker, seamstress and upholsterer and was a loving and devoted mom to her children and grandchildren. She attended any and all sporting events while the grandchildren were in school. She and her husband worked together in their upholstery business J&B Upholstery. After her husband's death in 1969 she worked with their longtime friend Joseph Walters in his business Walter's Upholstery. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and of the Daughters of Isabella and active in their sewing bee. She loved making baby quilts for those who were in need.
Survivors include her children Marcella (Dennis) Muller of Richmond, Indiana, Mark Brann of Key West, Florida, Michael (Sally) Brann of St. Petersburg, Florida and Mary Jane (William) Gast of Anderson, Indiana; grandchildren Stephanie (Reginald) Stewart and Andrew (Jennifer) Gast; great grandsons Remington and Emerson Stewart; siblings Joann Wittman of Dublin, Indiana, Clifford (Martha Jane) Dickman of Richmond, Indiana, Susann (Andrew) Sandala of Anderson, Indiana, Corrine Pentecost of Centerville, Indiana; sister-in-law Hilda Dickman Herold of Richmond, Indiana; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Kathleen Rogers and Delores Dickman; brothers Floyd Dickman and Jerome Dickman and daughter-in-law Ginger Brann.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday (September 20, 2016) in St. Andrew Church. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Father Kevin Morris will officiate. Friends may call on Monday (September 19, 2016) from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Andrew Catholic Church or Seton Catholic Schools (240 South 6th Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374).
