Obituary

Cathy A. Brunner passed away peacefully on February 17th surrounded by family after a short battle with ALS. She was born in Richmond on March 13th, 1959 to Jack A. and Ruth N. Close Daggy. She was a 1977 graduate from Richmond High School. She married her husband, Tom Brunner, on June 27, 1981.
Cathy had a big heart, always going above & beyond for others. Owner-operator of Jack Daggy Flowers (originally opened by her Dad). Cathy spent her lifetime career creating the most beautiful arrangements for all occasions, bringing joy to an insurmountable number of people. She led the flower shop to a successful 50 years of service to our community. Over her lifetime she supported a number of events including The Rose Festival, Richmond High School Graduation, The Gaar Mansion, The Depot Festival of Trees and Brighter Path.

She loved spending time with her family & friends whether it be at a bonfire with a drink, riding horses or just hanging out at the river on a warm sunny day. She adored her grandchildren and loved supporting all they did. From watching them play sports to 4-H projects to attending their programs, you'd always find her cheering them on.

Cathy is preceded in death by her father, Jack Daggy, her mother, Ruth Close Daggy, her brother, Jack A. Daggy Jr. (Jad) and her mother-in-law, June Brunner & father-n-law, Clarence Brunner.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 44 years, Tom Brunner of Richmond. Daughters - Amy (Duane) White of Richmond, Kasie (Robbie) Cones of Williamsburg, Shelbi Brunner (Garrett Burris) of Richmond. Grandchildren - Taylor White (Lane Bohlander), Logan White, Kaiden White (Rachel Berry), Baylee White, Lincoln Cones, Sawyer Cones and Eleanor Cones. Her sister, Sherry McClain and brother Jim (Kim) Daggy, all of Richmond. Nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and numerous cousins.

Public visitation will be held for Cathy on Saturday February 21, 2026 from 11am-2pm at LifeSpring Church North, 5600 US-27 Richmond, Indiana 47374. Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary is handling arrangements. Condolences can be made on our website at www.rigglewaltermann.com

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Cathy's name to Brighter Path Inc., 2778 N Treaty Line Rd, Cambridge City, IN 47327.
