Charles J. "Joe" Lacy, age 67, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (January 3, 2006) at his residence. He was born in Richmond on June 24, 1938 to Charles Walter and Edna Chaney Lacy. He retired from the US Navy where he served from 1955 to 1976. While in the Navy, he served in Viet Nam and also served with the Blue Angels from 1968 to 1973. After retirement from the Navy, he worked as a truck driver. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge. His wife, Joanne M. Lacy, died January 12, 2002
Survivors include - Daughters - Wendy Sloan of Richmond, Diana Heintz of Clayton, Ohio, Angela Coyle of Richmond, Lisa Louise Lacy of Orlando, Florida; Sons - Charles J. Lacy, II of Richmond and Randy Ray Lacy of Richmond; Brothers - Calvin Ray Lacy of Richmond and Michael Lacy of Beattyville, Kentucky; Sisters - Dorothy Funderberg of Walton, Kentucky, Carolyn Gonsalves of Richmond and Lynn Lacy of Richmond.; long-time family friend, Florence Herron of Richmond; 9 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandsons and a Great Granddaughter, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins
Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday (January 7, 2006) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Bud Parrish and Chaplain David Garman will officiate. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Veterans Council. Friends may call on Friday (January 6, 2006) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
