David L. Johnson, age 82, who formerly lived at 615 Pearl Street, died Wednesday afternoon (June 1, 2011) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond on March 14, 1929 to Donovan and Phyllis Hawkins Johnson and had lived here all of his life. He worked as a millwright and was a member Millwrights Union Local 1066. He was a member of Saint Andrew Church. Survivors include his wife of 18 years - Reta Hazelwander Johnson; daughters - Mariann (Michael) Allen of Richmond, Melissa Ervin of Richmond, step-children - Jene (Darlene) Anderson of Lebanon, Indiana, Henry (Tammy) Anderson of McComb, Mississippi, Anita Loudy of Hagerstown, Judy (Robert) Tetuman of Fort Worth, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and his special pal "Clovis". In addition to his parents, a son, Jimmy Johnson, a step-daughter, Ingrid Fannin and his first wife, JoAnn Johnson, are also deceased. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (June 4, 2011) in Saint Andrew Church. Father Todd Riebe will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (June 3, 2011) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
