David Laird (Dewey) was born on July 14th, 1975, in Richmond IN to Sharon Thompson and Stephen Laird. Dewey passed away unexpectedly peacefully in his home March 11th 2024, at the age of 48.
Dewey graduated from Richmond High School in 1993.
Dewey welcomed two beautiful daughters, Brittany, and Halea Laird. His daughters will remember him as a patient, loving, and funny father who encouraged them to always follow their dreams. Dewey was passionate about many things including sports, golfing, softball, concerts, cooking, and eating out at El Rodeo.
He was a witty individual, he loved cracking jokes, making everyone smile, silly t-shirts and memes. Everybody who knew Dewey, knows he could light up any room he walked into.
Dewey is survived by his mother Sharon; stepfather Terry; sister Stephanie; brother Andy; grandson Onaje; uncles Mike & Terry; stepsisters Brea, Tara and Ayren; cousins; nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his father Stephen; cousin Courtney King; grandma Wanda King; grandpa Virgil King and uncle Jeff King.
Services for Dewey will be held at 1pm on Saturday March 16, 2024, at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary, 32 S 11th St Richmond, IN 47374, with visitation starting at 11am and continuing until the start of service at 1pm.
