Fred E. Brinker, age 89, of Richmond, died Wednesday morning (August 18, 2004) at Oakridge Rehab-Beverly Healthcare. He was born in Richmond on August 25, 1914 to Mathias "Matt" and Irene Issen Brinker and had lived here all of his life. He had owned and operated Brinker's Restaurant and retired as a salesman for Zukerberg Uniform and Saftey Equipment. He was a member of Saint Andrew Church and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Knights of Saint John and he was a member of the Rising Sun American Legion.
Survivors include - Wife - Betty Brinker (to whom he was married 58 years)

Grandchildren - Kevin Heath of Aberdeen, Ohio
Shy Spencer of Aberdeen, Ohio
Great Granddaughters - Sarah and Lauren Heath
Sisters - Angela Brinker of Richmond
Ruth Stearns of Richmond
Rose Morrison of Richmond

Four brothers, James, John, Paul, Robert Brinker and a sister, Virginia Stolle, are also deceased.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (August 21, 2004) in Saint Andrew Church. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Veterans Council. Friends may call on Saturday (August 21, 2004) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1401 Chester Blvd., Richmond, IN 47374. Arrangements are being handled by Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
