Hilda Marie Denny, age 95, of Richmond passed away peacefully Thursday (November 24, 2016) surrounded by family. She was born in Union County on November 7, 1921 to Frank B. and Lena A Schumann Smith. Hilda married Bill Denny on September 25, 1965, she worked for Belden for 42 years and retired in 1982. Hilda was a member of St. Andrew Church, YMI Auxillary, American Legion Post 65 and a life long member of the VFW, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed bowling, golfing, and being around family.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years Bill Denny; brothers John P. (Norma) Smith and Charles A. (Ann) Smith; sister Rosemary V. (Dudley) Ramsey; brother-in-law Richard Denny and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by siblings Mary Margaret Drook, Anna Campbell, Agnes Hough, Joseph Smith, Florence Tieman, Ellen Shaw and Thomas Smith.

Liturgy of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday (November 29, 2016) in St. Andrew Church. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery. Father Kevin Morris will officiate. Friends may call on Monday (November 28, 2016) from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in HIlda's name to HELP the Animals Inc. (2101 West Main Street Richmond, IN 47374).
