James "Jim" Joseph Kloer, age 73, of Crossville, TN, passed away at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center on December 1, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on September 12, 1951, in Fort Wayne, IN to Herbert and Mary Ellen Kloer. He married his best friend and soul mate Jacqueline Kloer on July 31, 1993. They moved to Crossville, TN from Georgetown, TX in 2022. Jim graduated from Indiana University in 1977 and worked as a dentist until his retirement in 2020.
Jim loved spending time with and cooking for his family, working outside in the garden, traveling, making quilts with his wife, Jacqueline, collecting stamps, working on projects with his brother, Tim, watching sports, fishing, and watching crime dramas. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Crossville, TN. Jim was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and was generous, caring, and hard working.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Frank Kloer; his sister-in-law, Jan Kloer. Remaining to cherish Jim's memory are his wife, Jacqueline Kloer; his children Justin Kloer, Brandon (Brittany) Kloer, Megan (Wesley) Knight, Brad Wilson; his granddaughter Illiana Kloer; brother Tim Kloer.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary, 32 S 11th St. Richmond, IN 47374. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 235 S 5th St. Richmond, IN 47374. Graveside services will be held for the family following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
