Jean R. Roark, age 87, passed away Tuesday (January 24th 2016) at Arbor Trace in Richmond. She was born in Parke County, Indiana to Clarence and Lois Ellis. She resided most of her life in Randolph County. She enjoyed doing crafts, particularly sewing. She loved to be outdoors, working in her garden and bird watching. Jean loved the countryside. She also loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Reed (Mary) Roark of Centerville, Sandra (Tom) Johnson of Winchester; Ramona (Lee) Lewis of Wisconsin, Annette (Bob) Brackin of Florida, and Bill (Becky) Roark of North Carolina; grandchildren Jeff Roark, James (Krystal) Roark, John (Kevin Hicks) Roark, Brian Johnson, Curtis (Tracy) Johnson, Jared (Danielle) Johnson, Christy (James) Miller, Chad (Kristin) Brackin, Justin (Caitlin) Brackin, Hillary (Morgan) Crawford, Haylea (Shane) McCoy; great grandchildren Natalie, Dexter, Jacob, Madison, Alexis, and Abigail. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Finley Roark in 2008.
The family of Jean will hold a private family service at a later date.
