Jewell Lantz Richmond, IN - Jewell Lantz, age 90, passed away on Friday (December 12, 2014) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Sabetha, Kansas on November 5, 1924 to Edward and Florence Bougher and had lived here since the early 1940's. She had worked as a clerk at the Wayne County courthouse for over 20 years, and before that worked in the toy department at WT Grant's. Jewell loved cooking, baking, and canning, and loved the Christmas season. She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist church, and loved traveling, particularly to Hawaii and California. Survivors include her daughter Bonnie (Raymond) Effing of Batesville, Indiana; granddaughter Kris (Bob) Seiko; great granddaughter Ashleigh Seiko and great grandson Nate Seiko. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Wilbur Lantz, a grandson Scott Effing, and sisters Margaret Tauzer and Eunice Bestwick. Services for Jewell will be held on Wednesday (December 17, 2014) at 5 p.m. in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Lutherania Cemetery.
