"I am at peace"…..Our dear wife and mother, Joan Emma Pugh Liebert, laid down her body, left this world, and began her new life peacefully on March 7, 2012. Selfless caring and concern for others was her passion and the hallmark of her life. She was born in Florida on August 27, 1932 to Oscar and her beloved mother, Ruth Gardner Pugh and had lived here most of her life. She had worked at Belden and was a former employee of Richmond Community Schools. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Earl Liebert, daughter - Brenda (Ron) Cardella of Orlando, Florida; son - Mark (Anne) Liebert of Richmond; sisters - Naomi Green, Juanita Crouch, Betty Brown, Edith Moore; grandchildren - Matt Schuler, Drew Schuler, Raina Liebert, Brandy Benson, Chelsea Benson, Schyler Benson; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, a brother, Oscar Pugh, and three sisters, Hilda Grinstead, Maryann Gould and Ruth Pugh, are also deceased. Private services will be conducted on Saturday (March 10, 2012) in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Curt Nies will officiate. There will be no public visitation. Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
