John C. Young, age 79, of Richmond, died Friday morning (December 1, 2006) at his residence.� He was born in Monmouth, Illinois on December 9, 1926 to Charles Barnes and Opal Stringer Young and had lived in Richmond since 1972. �He was a 1945 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and received a bachelors degree from the American Television Institute of Technology.� He was a World War II veteran of the US Army and retired from Belden in 1988 after 23 years of employment.� John was a member of Central United Methodist Church where he served as head usher.� He was an avid fisherman and hunter and greatly enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Esther Young;
Son - Dennis (Judy) Young of Saint Charles, Illinois;
Daughters - Beth Ann (Terry) Conner of Cambridge City,
Sharon (Michael) Bossert of The Colony, Texas;
Brother - George R. Young of Kansas;

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday (December 30, 2006) in Central United Methodist Church (1425 East Main Street, Richmond).� The family will greet friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church..� Memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 1425 East Main St. Richmond, IN 47374 or to Reid Hospital Foundation for Hospice, 1401 Chester Blvd. Richmond, IN 47374.� Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.�
