Lari Parker Hunt, 71, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond, IN, on March 16, 1952, to Harold and Mary Jane Hunt. He had two brothers: Michael and Mark. He lived in Richmond until moving to Detroit in 1957 and then to Arkansas in 1969. He graduated from Blytheville High School in 1971. He attended Arkansas State University where he was involved in several clubs and Republican groups. He then moved back to Richmond where he met his wife, Margery Kennedy, in 1974. Lari graduated from IU in 1976 with an accounting degree. Lari married Margery on May 11, 1979. They had three children: Adam, Abby, and Anna. He was president of several clubs, including yearbook, student council, and honor society. He also volunteered for several organizations, including the music boosters.

Lari loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed playing cards and watching sports. He also enjoyed photography, taking pictures at various functions and family reunions. He enjoyed traveling with his brother Mark, going to Michigan, and getting on the boat to go on the lake. He enjoyed talking to several family members and friends on the phone, keeping everyone updated on how everyone was doing. He enjoyed his sweets, fried chicken, and sweet tea from family reunions and birthday parties. He loved spending time with his grandchildren: from going to band concerts to taking them to the park, to pretending to be a bus driver and playing unicorns, and watching Godzilla movies or reading books, to waving hello and making funny faces. He had a great sense of humor, a heart of gold, and never knew a stranger. He loved being around family and friends.

Survivors include his brothers: Michael (Sue) Unthank of New Mexico and Mark Hunt of Indiana. Children: Adam Hunt of Indiana, Abby Hunt of Missouri, Anna Hunt (Glenn Funk) of Indiana. Grandchildren: Alexander, Zoey-Jane, and Hailey Funk. Several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margery Hunt, mother, Mary Jane Parker Hunt, and father, Harold Hunt.

The calling for Lari will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. There will be a small service at 1 pm at the Mortuary. There will be a small gathering for family and friends following at Mary Scott Park, 105 NW 8th St. Richmond, IN.
