Lillian Joyce Dishner passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025 at the age of 101 ½. She was born in Richmond, Indiana on December 13, 1923 to James Benjamin Dishner and Verna Blanch (Houser) Dishner. She graduated from Franklin Township High School, class of 1942. She first worked for Richmond Baking Company before being hired at Metal Specialty Company during the war making shells. She became a small business owner with her sister-in-law, co-owning and operating Jenny & Lil's Drug Store, Tot Shop, Prep Shop, Deb 'N Heir, Baby's First Furniture, Curts Work Clothes, Dishner Real Estate, and Dishner's Antiques. Among her many talents, she loved music and played several different types of instruments. She would visit her friend Peggy in Wisconsin where they played in a band together. She also enjoyed bowling in the Wednesday and Friday leagues, fishing (in Wisconsin), playing craps and blackjack at the casino and she also looked forward to a new car every few years. Most of all, she loved her family and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are several nieces and nephews including Linda Werner, Jim (Sue) Dishner, Gena (Cook) Hyre; 21 great nieces and nephews including Roy Dishner and Tracy Dishner Hurd and 20 great-great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great-great nieces. Lillian is preceded in death by her mother Verna, father James, stepfather Soed Shankle, sister Jeannette Reardon, infant sisters Mary and Martha Dishner, brothers Charles Franklin Dishner and Curtis Willard Dishner and niece Lisa Dishner.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday June 17, 2025 from 1pm-3pm at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary.
