Obituary

Lonnie M. Pippin, age 84, passed away on Monday (November 3, 2014) at Arbor Trace. He was born in Cookeville, Tennessee on June 6, 1930 to Lonnie & Oma Pippin. He moved to the Richmond area as a young man in 1947. Lonnie was employed at Wallace Metal Products for over 20 years before pursuing his interest in owning a business. He started and operated two businesses, Lonnie Pippin and Sons Masonry and Pippin Building. Upon retiring in 1992, he continued to work part time in the building and remodeling business for many years. Lonnie was an avid gardener, and spent his free time camping, traveling, attending Richmond River Rats games, and tinkering in his garage. Survivors include his wife Helen Ryan, children Barry Pippin, Larry (Shirley) Pippin, Brenda Phillips, Timothy (Cindy) Pippin; Stepsons Mike, Duane, Ernie, & David; Grandchildren Barry, Lindsey, Anthony, Sheri, Matthew, Sara, Dillon, & Jennifer; 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years Jo-Ann Pippin; sisters Maybelle, Eloise, Ann, & Lucille; a brother Hershel; and nieces and nephews. Visitation for Lonnie Pippin will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, November 7 2014 in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Funeral Services for Lonnie will be held on Saturday November 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Slaven officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
