Louis H. Wuertemberger, age 85, of Richmond, died Wednesday evening (June 1, 2011) at his residence. He was born in Richmond on October 21, 1925 to Ludwig and Sophie Werner Wuertemberger and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and served in the US Navy during World War II. Louie was a retired 48 year employee of Wayne Dairy where he served as Vice President of Operations and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Indiana Dairy Industry. He was a former member and past president of the Richmond Lions Club and a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years - Patsy Wuertemberger; sons - Donald Wuertemberger of Richmond, Dean (Terri) Wuertemberger of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jeffrey ( Lisa) Wuertemberger of Fountain City; brother - David (Becky) Wuertemberger of Richmond; sister - Elsa (John) Catey of Richmond; sister-in-law - Rosie Wuertemberger of Richmond; grandsons - Brad (Carrissa) Wuertemberger and great granddaughter Lillian Mae to be born in October 2011 and Ryan (Elizabeth) Wuertemberger and great grandson Zachary; nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, a brother, Paul Wuertemberger, is also deceased. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (June 7, 2011) in Saint Paul's Lutheran Church (121 South 18th Street). Pastor Robert Meckley will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery.
