Muriel L. Jelly died peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday April 9th at Friends Fellowship community. Muriel was born to Edward Rogers and Elsie Ebeling Rogers on 5-12-19. Muriel graduated from Morton High School in 1937 and was a lifelong Richmond resident. Muriel was a member of Holy Family Parish. While Muriel devoted her energy to unconditionally loving and caring for her family, she also worked outside the home and retired from Earlham College. Muriel was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Muriel will be remembered most for her dedication to her family, her strong will and her humorous spirit. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years Robert Jelly, her brother, Carl Rogers, sister, Helen Hartman, and her son-in-law, Richard Doty. She is survived by her four children, Elaine Jelly (Ray Werner), Robin Jelly (Carol), Janice Doty, and Jeff Jelly (Jeff Aubel) and 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 16th 2014 in Holy Family church. Friends may call on Wednesday April 16th 2014 from 11:30-1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow will in Saint Andrew cemetery.
