Nila I. Sandridge, age 57, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening (January 4, 2007) in Saint Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after a short illness. She was born in Richmond on December 10, 1949 to Robert and Helen Mullen Barnes and had attended Milton High School. Nila was a hard working mom raising 4 sons. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for 35 years in several care centers in Richmond and Florida. She had also worked on a dairy farm. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy on television and going to flea-markets. Nila is survived by three sons �" David Randall Rowland and Michael John Rowland of Richmond and James Ellis (Ciera) Harley of Portland, Indiana; three sisters, Martha Sands and Dorothy Longanecker of Richmond and Sandy Stevens of Centerville; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, her husband, Ed Sandridge, son Virgil Ray Rowland and niece Tonya Lynn Reece, are also deceased. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday (January 10, 2007) in Riggle �" Waltermann Mortuary. Mark Hardy will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in East Germantown. Friends may call on Tuesday (January 9, 2007) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
