Obituary

Patricia Ann Miller (Velten) , age 94, Richmond, entered into eternal life on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Arbor Trace Senior Living.

She was born February 20, 1928 in Hamilton, Ohio to Victor and Dorothy Velten. The family moved to Richmond when Pat was in elementary school. She attended St Mary Catholic School and graduated from Richmond High School in the class of 1946 where she met the love of her life, Jack R Miller.

She and Jack were married in October 1949 at St Mary Catholic Church and together they raised five children. Pat was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in high school when she went to work at Knollenberg's Department Store until the store closed permanently. She was a well-known fixture in the Housewares Department in the basement of the store and rose to the position of Assistant Manager.

She was a member of St Mary Catholic Church, St Mary's Guild, and a Cub Scout Leader. She was a RCS Study Buddy for many years and delivered Meals on Wheels.

Her husband and her children were her absolute priority and she had many life-long friends. She belonged to the same Bridge Club for over 60 years and often remarked that for a period of nine straight years someone in her Bridge Club was expecting a child.

She enjoyed caring for her yard and flowers, sewing for her family, and playing cards, especially Bridge and Euchre. She was the consummate housekeeper and a wonderful cook. She loved to entertain her family and many friends in her beautiful home.

Survivors include her five children, Linda (Dave) Crump, Jim (Evelyn) Miller, Diane (Don) Endres, Mike (Lynn) Miller, and Nancy (Mitch) Barber. She has ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces. She also leaves behind many cherished friends.

Her beloved husband, Jack, preceded her in 1985. She was also preceded by her only brother, James, in 1990, her parents, aunts and uncles.

It was Pat's wish that she be cremated. Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 pm at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary on Friday, December 30th. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 31st at St. Mary Catholic Church of the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Richmond with Father Sengole Thomas Gnanaraj presiding. Immediately following, Deacon Jim Miller will officiate a graveside service in St Mary Catholic Cemetery in Richmond.

Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
