Rena Pauline May, age 96, passed away on Friday (September 23rd 2016) at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born in Darke County, Ohio on February 18th 1920 to George & Vera Baker, and had lived most of her life in this area. She had retired from the Richmond Gas Company, where she was the office manager. Pauline was known as a painter, particularly her oil and watercolor paintings. She had volunteered at the art museum here in Richmond. She loved spending time with her family, and was known for her cooking; particularly her apple pie. She was a life member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter Sue Mayernick; sister Marty Flaugher; Grandchildren Michelle Mayernick, Mark (Carey) Mayernick, and Rick (Kathy) Beam,; greatgrandchildren Mya, Arianna, Hannah, Natalia, Daniel, Brian, Jeremy, and Matt; 8 great greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pauline is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Carl May. Her daughter Sally Ann Beam is also deceased.
Services for Pauline will be held on Monday (September 26th 2016) at 1:30 p.m. in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Reverend Cindy Ploughe will officiate. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
