Reta Sharlene Mattix, age 84, of Centerville, peacefully passed away on Thursday November 13, 2025 at Arbor Trace. She was born in Richmond, Indiana on August 5, 1941 to Clarence and Mary Virginia (Ketron) Rust. Reta was married to Willard James "Jim" Mattix for 46 years before his passing in 2006. She worked at Cigna for 35+ years before retirement. Those that knew Reta knew that she was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Reta was very family oriented, a selfless caregiver who created a tight knit, loving family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Rodney Mattix and Ryan (Katina) Mattix; siblings Marsha Fehlinger, Sue Anderson, Rene Boze and Wanda McConaha; grandchildren Kristin (Vince) Engle, Patrick Mattix, Mary Mattix and Brandon Mattix; great-grandchildren Raiden, Jaxon and Aveline and several cousins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Jim.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11am-1pm Friday November 21, 2025 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday November 21, 2025 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Goshen Cemetery.
