Robert A. Brinker, age 86, of Richmond, died Wednesday morning (December 24, 2003) at Golden Rule - Beverly Healthcare. He was born in Richmond on August 24, 1917 to Matt and Irene Issen Brinker and had lived here all of his life. He had owned and operated Hackman-Eickemeyer Furniture Store for 37 years. He was a graduate of Morton High School and was a veteran of World War II where he served with the 80th Division. While in the Army, he served in campaigns in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardenees, and Central Eurpoe and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Saint Mary Church, American Legion Post 65 and the 80th Division Association.
Survivors include - Wife - Mary Eickemeyer Brinker (whom he married February 12, 1943)
Daughters - Linda Matthews (husband Gary) of Indianapolis

Son - James A. Brinker of Richmond
Brother - Fred Brinker of Richmond

A sister, Virginia Stolle, and three brothers, James, John and Paul Brinker are also deceased.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday (December 27, 2003) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Litrugy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Mary Church. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery. Friend may call on Friday (December 26, 2003) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
