Stanley H. McClain, age 59, formerly of Richmond, died Friday (May 11, 2012) of natural causes at his home. He was born on April 13, 1953 in Richmond to Richard F. and Janet E. McClain. He served in the United State Army after graduating from Richmond High School in 1971. Stan then traveled the United States where he enjoyed adventure and life's beauty. He loved nature and all animals. Stan worked for many years in casino management. He was an avid local baseball player all through high school and continued to play semi-pro after serving in the army. Stan enjoyed reading and published his own poetry. Survivors include his sister - Terri Ann McClain; brother - Steven B. (Suzanne) McClain both of Richmond; nephew - Ben H. Miller of Richmond; nieces - Angela M. (Scott) Rodenburg of Liberty, Indiana, Stefanie S. (Ben) Schy of Louisville, Kentucky, Stacie A. McClain of Muncie, Indiana; great nephew - Joseph, great niece - Lillie; cousins, many lifelong friends and a very special cat "Boo". He was preceded in death by his parents.
