Thelma P. Hobbs, age 97, of Richmond, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning (November 18, 2008) at her residence.� She was born in Benhams, Virginia on October 18, 1911 to Henderson and Lula Smith Turner and had lived in this area most of her life.� She was a homemaker and a self employed seamstress.� She retired to Florida with her husband in 1969 and moved back to this area in 1993.� She had belonged� to the Ravina Park Baptist Church and was a member of Eastern Star.� Her husband, F. Stickley Hobbs, died on August 10, 1990.�Survivors include her daughters - Phyllis Marlatt of Richmond and Barbara Short of Economy, Indiana;� son - Donald Hobbs of Lynn, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren;� nieces and nephews.� �Two brothers, Robert and Donald Turner, and two sisters, Martha White and Helen Thalls are also deceased.�Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday (November 21, 2008)� in Sugar Grove Community Church (6404 Sugar Grove Road).� Rev. Max Knight will officiate.� Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.� Friends may call on Thursday (November 20, 2008) from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church.�
