Howard E. Barker, age 78, of Richmond, died Thursday morning (April 12, 2007) at Arbor Trace Health Center.� He was born in Wayne County on November 19, 1928 to Frank H. and Bessie C. White Barker and had lived here all of his life. �He was a 1946 graduate of Whitewater High School and a 1951 graduate of Indiana University.� Howard was employed by Perfect Circle/Dana Corporation from 1951 until his retirement in 1988.� He was an Eagle Scout and continued his association with Scouting as an adult leader.� He was member of the Wayne County Genealogical Society and was a very active 54 year member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife� Alice Barker whom he married in 1954; two daughters - Rebecca Black of Greenfield, Indiana and Julie Bell of Saint Petersburg, Florida;� brothers - Charles (Alma) Barker of Orlando, Florida, Thomas A. (Joan) Barker of New Paris and Eugene C. (Gloria) Barker of Rice Lake, Wisconsin;� grandchildren - Christopher Black and Amanda Kandle;� nieces & nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday (April 16, 2007) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.� Rev. Amanda Hines and Rev. John Hollis will officiate.� Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.� Friends may call on Sunday (April 15, 2007) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.������������������������
