Alan G. Coons, age 77, of Centerville, died Sunday afternoon (August 18, 2013) at Golden Living Center - Richmond. He was born in Richmond on April 13, 1936 to Leo G. and Nellie M. Sharits Coons and had lived in this area all of his life. He worked as a machinist and then served Centerville High School in the maintenance department. He was also a school bus driver for Centerville-Abington Schools. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Coons; his sons, Rob Coons of Terre Haute and Thomas (Cathy) Coons of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Lauren Coons, Lindsey Coons, Michael Coons and Harmony Johnson. Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday (August 23, 2013) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. John Hollis will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
