Obituary

Alene Faye Newman-Mitchell arrived April 24, 1931 in Spring Grove Richmond, IN to Lance O Newman & Bertha Elizabeth Hoover-Newman. And she departed us on May 15th, 2025. She married her first husband Millard Luther "Dink" Fields and had two children from this union; daughters Roberta K. (Bobbi) Carter & Susan J. (Sue) McFarland. After his passing she would later marry the love of her life James "Mitch" Charles Mitchell in 1967 at St Mary's Church.

Faye retired from Alcoa & spent most of her life living in Indiana, but did spend some childhood years in Arizona. She was a giving women, donating to many organizations especially to the Indian Wells Schools & sponsoring many Indigenous Native American Navajo children over her years, culminating long lasting relationships.

Always ready for an adventure traveling all across the country, or at the horse races with her husband Mitch, who she cherished deeply. They were a true testament to unconditional love. She adored all animals but really had an affinity towards owls. She handmade the most beautiful quilts & would make hundreds of knitted scarves to give away for those in need. She cared strongly about helping women who were struggling with domestic violence. Although dementia took her away from us years ago, we honor her memories and the women she was to so many. She had a beautiful smile and a great laugh but always helping us and others is her lasting legacy.

Surviving family; her daughters Bobbi & Sue, brother Samuel "Sam" Allen Newman, all of Richmond, IN.
Grandchildren Aimee Carter-Harris (Satellite Beach, FL), Ali Carter-Rivera (Rafi), Kari Pierson-Estes (Steven), Dustin Pierson (Kaitlyn) all of Richmond, IN. Blessed with great grandchildren Nikai Mitchell Harris, Amaya Harris, Annika Harris, Casey Pierson, Sydney & Taytem Rivera, Emmy & Laney Estes and Easton Pierson, and great-great grandchildren, Amira & Grace. She also leaves behind many special nieces. Faye is preceded in death by her husband Mitch, sister Iris Rife & grandson Jeremy Pierson.
