Surrounded by his family, Allan Roberts passed away at the age of 77 on Friday, June 20th, 2014 at Reid Hospital. He lived a full life as a biology teacher for 36 years at Richmond High School, a taxidermist, a naturalist at Hayes Arboretum, a Camp Clements Counselor with his brother in law Larry Moore, a nature photographer, and an author of children's books. He was a man of many hobbies including: reading, teaching, hunting, fishing, shopping for bargains, and making others laugh. Allan was a loving husband, a caring father, and a humorous grandfather. He lived his life with his own unique outlook. He was loved deeply by many and will be widely missed. He leaves behind a son and daughter in law Chris and Karen Roberts of Franklin, IN; a daughter and son in law Annette and Craig Rogers of Connersville, IN and a daughter and son in law Cathy and Tony Gawarecki of Greenwood, IN; Grandchildren Monica Rogers, Dexter and Kimberly Haynes, Daniel and Jerica Roberts, Cody Roberts, Ryan Roberts, Kara Haynes, Jordan, Josh, and Justin Gawarecki; Brothers and sisters in laws: Steve and Nancy Roberts of Westfield, IN, Jack and Chris Roberts of Noblesville, IN, and Robert and Mardell Hall of Granger, IN. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. His wife of 54 Years, Janice Roberts, passed away in January this year. He was also preceded in death by his father and mother Winston and Rosamond Roberts and father and mother in law Lawrence and Betty Moore, and brother in law Larry Moore. Services for Allan will be held on Saturday (June 28th, 2014) at 1 p.m. in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary with burial to follow in Goshen Cemetery. Reverend Robert Malone will officiate. Public viewing will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make a donation in Allan's name to the Whitewater Valley Land Trust, Inc.
