Bernice Slifer, age 97, of Richmond, died Wednesday afternoon (October 22, 2008) at Friends Fellowship Community.� She was born on April 30, 1911 to Robert and Amanda King Roosa and had lived here all of her life.� She was a homemaker, a member of West Richmond Friends Meeting and was a member of Omega Phi Tau Sorority for more than 50 years.� Her husband, Melville Slifer, died on May 1, 1978.�Survivors include her grandsons - Jeff (Rita) Slifer of Richmond and Glen (Donna) Slifer of Economy; 4 great grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and 1 step-great great grandchild.�A son, Jerry Slifer, died on March 13, 1980.�
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday (October 26, 2008) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.� Joshua Brown will officiate.� Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.� Friends may call on Sunday (October 26, 2008) from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.� www.riggle-waltermann.com
