Ambrose "Beanie" Svarczkopf, 89, of Richmond, Indiana passed away Thursday (June 14th, 2018) at the Springs of Richmond. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on December 3, 1928 to Frank and Magdolna Hausman Svarczkopf. Beanie was hardworking, a great provider, and wonderful example for his family. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1946, attended Indiana State University, Earlham College, Tampa Manufacturing Institute, and the Chrysler Institute. Beanie worked 25 years at National Automatic Tool Company as General Foreman and then went on to work at Chrysler Corporation in a similar capacity. He served as Trustee and on the Board of Education at St. Andrews Catholic Church. He was Richmond City tackle football Coach of the Year in 1970. Beanie was an accomplished golfer playing on the 1946 RHS NCC Champion golf team. Also, he may have been the greatest euchre player to ever play the game. Dad's greatest joy came from being a loving husband to our beloved mother for 67 years, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His wife, entire family, church, country, and sports were his greatest passions.
Survivors include his children Kyle Svarczkopf (Carol), Timothy Svarczkopf (Teresa), and Andrea Mosey (Steve); brothers Anthony Svarczkopf and George Svarczkopf, sister Irene Lohmeier (Ken); 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Margaret Svarczkopf; infant daughter Mona Svarczkopf; son Kevin Svarczkopf (Lisa surviving); his parents Frank and Magdolna Svarczkopf; sisters Helen Toney, Marge Cassel, Elizabeth Bodolai, Emma Gunsalus, Mary Coddington, Olga Fuller, and Ilona Benjamin; and brother Frank Svarczkopf.
Visitation will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday (June 17, 2018). Funeral mass will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. on Monday (June 18, 2018). Burial will follow at St. Andrews Cemetery. Father Kevin Morris and Monsignor Mark Svarczkopf will concelebrate.
