Ann E. Melle (age 93) passed away on Saturday September 19, 2026, at Friends Fellowship. She was born on April 16th, 1933, in Richmond, IN to William and Flora Torbeck Kahle. She lived in Richmond most of her life. She graduated in 1951 from Richmond Senior High School. Ann attended Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1954 as a registered nurse. She worked at Reid Hospital in the surgical department for 5 years. She was a life long member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

In 1959 she married Carl E. Melle and had 58 years happily married before his death on Oct. 21, 2017. They enjoyed spending 11 winters in Eustis, Fl. Ann enjoyed gardening and making various crafts for 40+ years.

She is survived by brothers John J. (Mary Louise) Kahle and Donald E. Kahle; two special nieces Cynthia Sifers and Julia Morand; sister-in-law Betty Melle; nephew David Murray formally David Melle and niece Linda Melle Davis, great nieces & nephews, great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Rev. David Kahle and sister-in-law Janice Kahle

Liturgy of Christian burial will be held at 1pm on Wednesday September 23, 2026, at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow in St. Andrew Cemetery with Father Sengole Gnanaraj officiating services. Public visitation will be held at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary on Wednesday September 23, 2026, from 11:30am-12:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Ann's name to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish or Seton Schools.
