Annelies Conti, age 91, died Tuesday afternoon (July 16, 2013) at Ambassador Healthcare with family at her side. She was born in Berlin, Germany to Adolf and Helene Schmelzer and had lived in Richmond since 1948. She was retired from Morrison Reeves Library, where she headed the graphic display department. Annelies is survived by her sons Roland J. (Leighanne) and Ralph S. (Gerry) Conti, granddaughters Michelle (Darrin) Moore, Annelies Sophia (Anthony) Cornish, Jenny Marie (Nick) Gergeley; grandsons Ralph V (Tina) Conti, Samuel Hahn-Conti, Michael (Laura)Hahn- Conti; great-grandchildren Brent and Zachary Moore, Christian and Gabrielle Corsiatto-Conti, Vincenzo Conti, Elijah, Eva, and Audrey Cornish, Riley Hahn-Conti. In addition to her parents, Annelies is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Roland B Conti. A brother Jurn Schmelzer is also deceased. Services for Annelies will be held on Saturday (July 20, 2013) at noon at Earlham Cemetery in the field of honor. Rev. Paul Mingus will officiate.
