Arthur "Art" Shaffer, age 80, of Richmond, died Saturday (September 8, 2018) at Reid Health. He was born in Richmond on October 8, 1937 to Leland Lester and Velma Wright Shaffer and had lived here all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired long-term employee of Whitewater Valley R.E.M.C.

Survivors include his wife Rose Shaffer; son Glen (Vanessa) Shaffer; daughter Amy Shaffer; sisters Norma Donathon and Barbara Toney. In addition to his parents, two brothers and his grandson, Adam Brown are also deceased.

A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday (September 13, 2018) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Pat Murphy will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday (September 13, 2018) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
