Averil V. Nielson, age 94, of Richmond, Indiana, went to her eternal reward on January 16, 2021.

She was born December 12, 1926, in Fennville, Michigan, to Fred and Edith (Sias) Crowner. She was a faithful follower of Christ and a mother beloved. She willingly worked hard all her life, making a significant difference in the world around her and in the lives of those who love her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Sherrlyn Mingus (Rev. Paul) of Richmond, Indiana, a son, Rev. Wayne Hoffert (Connie) of Staples, Minnesota, 11 grandchildren, along with their spouses and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Nielson, a son, Calvin Hoffert (also known as Steed Savvy), 1 great-grandchild, her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

A service to commemorate Averil's life will be 12pm Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Southview Church of the Nazarene, Richmond, Indiana with a visitation from 11am-12pm. Arrangements are under the care of Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. The family requests, please no flowers. Interment will be in Hartford, Alabama at a later date.
