August 22, 2009 Barbara A. Holmes, age 81, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (August 22, 2009) at Golden Living Center - Oakridge. She was born in Richmond on May 14, 1928 to Lee and Clara E. Getz Smith and had lived here most of here life. She was a 1946 graduate of Richmond High School and was a retired employee of Ball Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors include her children - Holly Holmes (Tim) Love of Richmond, Howard (Pam) Holmes of Michigan, Julianne Holmes (Doug) Cochran of Winchester, Virginia, Bruce (Lorie) Holmes of Huntington, Indiana, Tyronne Holmes of Hawaii; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A son, Terry Lee Holmes, and a brother, James Lee Smith, are also deceased. A public memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday (August 29, 2009) in Saint Paul's Lutheran Church (121 South 18th St. in Richmond). Pastor Gerald Mielke will officiate. Private graveside services will be conducted in Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City, Indiana.
