Our heavenly Father came looking for an angel. In a soft gentle voice that only she could hear, he said to her, "you have served me well". As he reached out his hand, she heard him say "it is time". Barbara E. McClain, age 75, of Richmond, died Friday morning (March 18, 2005) at Golden Rule-Beverly Healthcare. She was born in Richmond on October 8, 1929 to Verold L. and Hazel E. Adams Lackey and had lived here all of her life. She was a member of Saint Mary Church and she was a retired employee of the Palladium-Item. Her husband, James W. McClain, died February 24, 1991.

Brother - Bob (Anna) Lackey of Richmond
Sister - Mickey (Toby) Anderson of Baxter, Tennessee

Special Friend - Sylvia Black of Richmond

A daughter, Peachy Thompson, died July 23, 1983.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday (March 21, 2005) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Cliff Hazelbaker will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday (March 20, 2005) from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
