Barbara J. Pence, age 65, formerly of Richmond, died Wednesday (January 22, 2014) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Richmond on December 16, 1948 to Robert and Mary Louise Lahrman Parent and had lived in Wayne County most of her life. She was a 1967 graduate of Richmond High School. She was a homemaker and had worked for Senior Opportunity Services, Richmond State Hospital and for the former Green Acres. She attended Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton and First Baptist Church in Richmond and was a member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. Survivors include her husband, Ernie Pence; children, Anthony Crawford of Indianapolis, Stephanie (Eric) Malone of Greenville, Ohio, Ben (Patty) Crawford of Richmond; step-children, Sarann Pence of Ithaca, Ohio, Rebekah Wilson of Ithaca, Ohio, John (Mary) Pence of Arcanum, Ohio; grandchildren, Jackson Crawford, Josephine Crawford, Benjamin Crawford, Claire Crawford, Emma Malone, Tommy Malone; step-grandchildren, Quentin Pence, Matthew Pence, Carson Pence; sister, Vicki (Curt) Brim of Richmond; nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday (January 27, 2014) in First Baptist Church (1601 South "A" Street, Richmond). Rev. Phil Hodgkin will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday (January 26, 2014) from 3:00 p.m. To 6:00 p.m. in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
