Barbara Drook Showalter, age 64, of Richmond, died Monday afternoon (May 7, 2012) at Reid Hosptial. She was born in Richmond on May 10, 1947 to Herbert and Mary Smith Drook and had lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Richmond High School and was employed by Reid American Nursing Care. She was a member of Holy Family Church. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Ronald Showalter; daughters - Amy Aughe of Centerville, Indiana, Lori Curts of Richmond; brothers and sisters - Dana (Jim) Bradshaw of Richmond, Jim (Shirley) Drook of Richmond, Mike (Martie) Drook of Richmond, Phyllis Sneed of New Carlisle, Ohio, Carol (Larry) Newberry of Vandalia, Ohio; grandchildren - Miranda Aughe, Andy Aughe, Maggie Curts, Caleb Curts; great grandchildren - Kaylee Aughe and one to be born in August; nieces and nephews and special friend - Janelle Marcum Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m.on Friday (May 11, 2012) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Father Todd Riebe will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday (May 10, 2012) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
