Bette J. Rich, age 87, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (December 1, 2012) at Golden Living Center. Golden Rule. She was born in Richmond on July 6, 1925 to Jack and Maude Shonkwiler Mills and had lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Richmond High School, a homemaker and a member of Saint Mary Church. Her husband, F. Dee Rich, died on December 25, 1992. Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca (Norris) Alexander of Richmond, Paula Rich of Richmond, Beth (Shawn) Patterson of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; siblings, Maxine Cummings. Pete Mills, Michael Mills all of Richmond and Sharon Baker of Connersville; grandchildren, Angelina (Will) Overstreet, Amy (Milan Zupcic) Alexander, Andrew (Kimberley) Alexander, Hanna (Jonathan Felix) Patterson, Alexander Patterson, Logan Patterson; great granddaughters, Vivienne Overstreet and Ruby Alexander. Her son, Samuel Rich, a brother, William Mills, and sister, Virginia Strickler, are also deceased. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (December 6, 2012) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Deacon Joe James will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday (December 6, 2012) from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
