Obituary

Betty F. Kaler, age 90, formerly of Richmond, died Thursday morning (March 22, 2012) at the Mulberry Health and Retirement Community in Mulberry, Indiana. She was born in Indianapolis on March 28, 1921 to Raymond and Ruby Edwards Galbreath and had lived in Richmond most of her adult life before moving to West Lafayette, Indiana. She was a graduate of Columbus (Indiana) High School and had worked with her husband in the operation of Linclon-Kaler Candy and Tobacco. She had been a member of the Tarum Shrine Ladies and was a former board member of the Animal Welfare Shelter. She was a former member of Central United Methodist Church. Survivors include her niece - Toni-Jo (Mark) Hughes of Lafayette, Indiana; nephew - Larry (Connie) Tiano of Antioch, Tennessee; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Her husband, Edward W. Kaler, Jr. died in June of 1995 and a nephew, Jerry Tiano, died in August 2010. Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Monday (March 26, 2012) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Bill Kaler will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Indiana. Friends may call on Monday (March 26, 2012) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
