Betty Jo Pegg Caplinger, age 80, of Richmond, died Thursday morning (May 20, 2010) at her residence. She was born in Richmond on September 27, 1929 to Glenn and Blanche Cosgrove Pegg and had lived here all of her life. She was a 1949 graduate of Richmond High School and a retired 30 year employee of Belden. Betty Jo was a member of First Christian Church and a 59 year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Her husband, Gilbert Caplinger, died on August 25, 1996. Survivors include her daughter - Rhonda (Mike) Power of Centerville; grandson - Derek Callahan of Richmond; brother - Larry (Susie) Crandall of Three Rivers, Michigan; sister - Jean Matheny of Richmond; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, a brother, Richard Pegg, is also deceased. Services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday (May 23, 2010) at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Amanda Hines will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Sunday (May 23, 2010) from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
