Betty J. Whitton, age 82, of Richmond, died Sunday morning (September 24, 2005) at Oakridge Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Centerville, Indiana on May 13, 1923 to Evart and Ada Adair Wissler and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a graduate of Centerville High School and had worked at the former Ben Franklin Variety Store and at the former Harris Variety Store. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School for 49 years. Her husband, Lester Whitton, died on August 9, 1995.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday (September 28, 2005) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Lester Maples will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
