Obituary

William Allen Baumer, age 81, of Richmond, Indiana passed away November 11, 2022 surrounded by family. Bill was born August 11, 1941 to Charles and Leota (Austerman) Baumer in Wayne Co Indiana. Bill graduated in 1960 from Richmond High School and married Eileen Kurtz, July 1, 1961. Aside from being a lending officer at Second National Bank, Bill was engaged in his love for farming. Bill's passion for farming never stopped. He always had livestock whether it was hogs, cattle or mules. You could find him baling hay or spending time at the cabin simply enjoying the outdoors. One of his greatest pleasures was hunting. He spent many nights hunting raccoons, and days hunting rabbits and squirrels with his dogs, sons and grandchildren. Bill was co-owner and founder of Wayne Concrete Contractors, Inc. alongside with his wife Eileen. When they could take time away from Wayne Concrete, Bill and Eileen enjoyed traveling the states.

In addition to Eileen, Bill is survived by his children Roxanne (Pat Conway) Binford, Eric (Brenda) Baumer, Michael (Renita) Baumer, and Suzanne (Randall) Lacey; grandchildren Abbey Rich, Renee (Eric) Kohlmann, Shannon Binford, Mitch (Kelsey) Baumer, Garrett Baumer, Emily (Josh) Perry and Jeremy (Courtney) Lacey and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings David Baumer, Ron Baumer, Shirley Baumer, Sheila Ritter and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Leota Baumer, grandson Austin Baumer and mother-in-law and father-in-law Vennie and Carl Kurtz and sister-in-law Patti Baumer.

A private family service was held November 17, 2022. After a short service at Riggle Walterman Mortuary Bill was laid to rest at St. Andrew's Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Friends Fellowship Endowment Fund at 2030 Chester Blvd, Richmond, IN 47374. On behalf of our Dad we would like to say thank you to the staff of Friends Fellowship (past and present). They have been wonderful thru this 41 month journey. Also a big thank you to Aseracare Hospice. They helped immensely with getting all of those who loved him transitioned through this tough process.

In closing, we would like to apologize to anyone who had their toes stepped on by Dad. We would also like to say you're welcome to all of those that he influenced or inspired.
