Billy H. Martin, age 80, of Richmond, died Wednesday afternoon (September 19, 2012) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Stanton, Kentucky on March 19, 1932 to Earl F. and Elsie Conlee Martin and had lived here since 1965. He was a graduate of Indiana University where he received a degree in business and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. He had worked in the real estate business and was the owner/operator of the former Coachman Lounge. He enjoyed bee keeping and selling honey and was a member of Metamora Lodge #156 F & AM, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Metamora Christian Church. His wife, Effie Martin, died in 1991. Survivors include his daughter - Edith (Jerry) Davis of Muncie, grandchildren - Earl Anthony Bailey and Erica Lavonne Bailey of Richmond; sister - Anita Fay Gabbard of Connersville; brother - Malcolm Eugene Martin of Middletown, Pennsylvania; nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, a brother, Charles Warren Martin, is also deceased Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (September 22, 2012) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday (September 22, 2012) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
