Obituary

Carol Ann Goss, 78, died on April 1, 2023. She had been ill for a short time. She was born to Vernon and Josephine Goebel on July 29th, 1945, at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.
Raised in the Catholic Church, she attended St. Andrews School through the 8th grade, then Hibberd Junior High and Richmond Senior High School, graduating in 1963. On October 19th that same year, she married Frederick Goss. Through thick and thin, they remained together and in love until the end. It would have been 60 years this fall.

She was a good mother to four sons and her home was always humming with activity. She supported and cheered for her sons and their friends in all their sports and activities. It was no small feat as they would often have multiple events on the same night, and after a day at work. She was a teacher's aide at C.R. Richardson Elementary and worked in the Earlham College Registrar's office for 26 years.
She loved her German Shepherd dogs, Missy, Abby, Misty, Yetta, and Gretta. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Notre Dame football, Hoosier basketball, and sometimes yelling at the coaches on TV.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Goss, her brother Joe Goebel and his wife Barb, Her oldest son Mark Goss, his wife Mindy, and their two daughters, Annah and Alaina Goss. Her second son Rick, his wife Diane, and their son RJ and his wife Jenni, the parents of Carol's great-grandchildren, Joey, Max, and Ava. Carol's third son is Doug and his wife Theresa, their kids, Tracy, Nita, Evelyn, and Carter. The youngest of the brothers, Gregg, and his wife Tyra, their sons, Dr. Alexander Goss, and Andrew Goss, her cousin Bonnie Lahrman, sister in-laws, Charlotte Miller and Sheila Atkins, and her brother in-law, John Goss. Carol also leaves behind a lifelong and dear friend, Cheri Gaddis.

She had many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that were very important to her. Carol had many friends, many she had worked with or went to church with, and many were fireman's wives. They would meet for lunch, coffee, or go out for dinner. The support and love lifted her up and did not go unnoticed. Thank you all.

Carol was a great cook and loved to feed people. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Circle-U Food Pantry, 19 North 13th Street, Richmond, Indiana. Let's help her feed people one more time.
