Caroldeen Shocklee, age 85, formerly of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (January 10, 2006) a his residence in Hamilton, Ohio. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on July 31, 1920 to Ivo and Cliffie Ellen King Shocklee and had lived in Richmond most of his life before moving to Ohio in 1987. He was a US Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Signal Corp. He retied in 1982 as an employee of Wayne Corporation and he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His wife, Rachel Thom Shocklee, died in 1993.
Survivors include - Son - Richard (Vicky) Shocklee of Hamilton, Ohio
Brother - Kerney Shocklee of Muncie, Indiana
4 Grandchildren -Deana (Jeff) Mills, Rick (Kacy) Young, Tillie (Paul) Smith, Cindy (Zack) Merk
10 Great Grandchildren Nieces & Nephews
Two brothers, Lorenzo & Truman Shocklee, and two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Alma Gabbard, are also deceased.
Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday (January 13, 2006) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Bishop Mike Fegter will officiate. Entombment will be in Earlham Mausoleum where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Veterans Council. Friends may call on Thursday (January 12, 2006) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
