Carroll Lee "Butch" Goodwin, age 66, of Richmond, died unexpectedly on Saturday (October 31, 2009) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond on March 9, 1943 to Harold J. and Marion C. Chestnut Goodwin. He was a US Army veteran and had lived here most of his life. Survivors include three sons - Richard Goodwin, Jason Goodwin and Darin Goodwin, his sister - Helen Roark; brother - James Goodwin; his long-time companion - Beverly Smith; step-daughter - Kimberly Trupp; 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a sister, Edith Beatty, and brother, Darryl Goodwin, are also deceased. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday (November 6, 2009) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will be in Williamsburg Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
